Hello! My name is Chantam - I am new and excited to be here.
I recently left my job this year to become self-employed (yay!). I love entrepreneurship, small businesses, independence, etc.
As soon as I started working for myself, I cut out all of my subscriptions -- specifically my gym membership and therapy because I was trying to be cost efficient & it was hard for me to justify my gym when my health insurance premium just tripled.
But then I realized these things were what kept me healthy & balanced, and I probably needed them even more after becoming a solopreneur.
Does anyone else miss the nice fringe benefits or wellness benefits that corporate companies or well-funded startups provide to their employees (subsidized gyms, discounted workout classes like ClassPass, access to therapy, etc.)?
There are so many upsides to running your own business, but I also feel like there are challenges like this that can make it really hard & at times unsustainable. I'm also a big health & wellness person so this was a big wake up call for me.
I want to build a solution around this. If you're in this boat, I'd love to chat!
Thanks,
Chantam
