Welcome to FRCTNL!

What FRCTNL is for

FRCTNL exists to increase the number of high-quality fractional jobs in the world. It’s a space for people working in—or hiring for—fractional, freelance, and contract roles to connect, share insights, and support each other.

You’re encouraged to:
• Share fractional, contract, and project-based roles.
• Ask for advice, feedback, or help with fractional work.
• Discuss topics like personal branding, pricing, finding work, and working with clients.

What you can post

Job and Project Posts
• Fractional, freelance, and contract roles are welcome.
• It’s ok to include referral links, and it’s ok if you’re making money from a post (for example, a recruiter fee or referral bonus).
• If you’re a recruiter, you need to be posting a specific role you’re helping to fill.

Personal Posts
• You can post about yourself if you’re looking for work or referrals in fractional, freelance, or contract roles.
• This type of self-promotion is limited to once every 3 months.

Discussions & Questions
• You’re encouraged to ask for advice, share experiences, and talk about anything related to building a successful fractional career.

What’s Not Allowed

🚫 Full-Time Job Posts
• This community is focused on fractional and freelance work. Full-time roles aren’t a fit.

🚫 General Self-Promotion
• Posts that just promote your business, coaching, newsletter, substack, or productized services (unless directly tied to fractional work opportunities) are not allowed.
• FRCTNL is for conversations and connections — not for selling services or content.

🚫 Off-Topic Links
• Links are fine if they directly help someone get hired or succeed as a fractional worker.
• Links just to personal blog posts, content marketing, or unrelated services aren’t a fit.

Posts that are disallowed will be deleted.

The Overall Goal

FRCTNL is here to make it easier for talented people to find fractional work — and for companies to find great fractional talent.

This is a place to share jobs, ask questions, give advice, and help each other succeed in fractional work.

If you’re ever unsure whether something fits, just send me an email (philip@contraption.co)
Let me know if you want me to make this even shorter or adjust the tone.
